Currently residing in Sawyer, ND, Duane was born and raised in the Lower Peninsula of Michigan, just north of Grand Rapids. Although he has always been artistically talented and enjoyed art, he chose a path that left him little time to pursue it. After fourteen years he decided it was time to draw again. What began as challenge led him to see that he still had the desire and ability which quickly developed into something more.
What he discovered was even though unpracticed, after so many years, it came back to him as if no time had passed. Once started, the decision that he would finally pursue his natural talent was easily made. Duane is a wildlife artist dedicated to capturing an animal’s individual character, intensity and soul in each of his drawings. He has been invited as a visiting artist in Yellowstone National Park since 2011 and his pieces have been sold around the world.
